My name is Paul Booth. I teach sixth grade math and science in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is my twelfth year teaching with six of those years spent in a middle school in Charlotte. In my teaching career, I have taught in the following places: Niger in West Africa; Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Durham, North Carolina; Cairo, Egypt; and now in Charlotte, North Carolina. I have been married for eight years, and I have two children: Greta (age 5) and Wyatt (age 3). I grew up in Lansing, Michigan and I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Chemistry and joined the Peace Corps Niger in 1999.
In Durham, I was a Lateral Entry teacher. North Carolina took my experience in science and Peace Corps and let me into a classroom. In those two years in Durham I completed teaching classes at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to become a fully licensed teacher. Michigan State’s Graduate School is my first time back in a classroom since 2006 when I was at Carolina. I will be finished with my master's degree this May
